This is the second project initiated by Imfundiso Skills Development in South Africa. Established at the Sekhukhune Education Multi Purpose Centre, in the Fetakgomo Municipality of the rural Sekhukhune District, south of Limpopo Province, in 2004, the project is the first of its kind in the province. The project started with the registration of 15 students in the first year of operations.

Along with the project, there is the Sekhukhune Heritage Resource and Information Centre (SHERIC), a tourist attraction run by Ditso Tsa Bopedi–a nonprofit organization that represents art, culture, and tourism in the district.

Imfundiso Skills Development is an organisation that provides knowledge and skills provision. It was established to give sustainable solutions to the growing problems of poor quality and unsustainable knowledge and skills provision by a growing number of local and foreign conference organisers and education and training providers.

Imfundiso is a privately owned black company, with all shares owned by blacks. Since gender equality is also an important shared value of Imfundiso, women hold 25 percent of the company's shares.
